In 2020 the APA California Board approved a Planner Remembrance Program to annually recognize planners who passed away the preceding year. The Planners Emeritus Network (PEN) delivers this important program to California Chapter APA members during a plenary session at the Chapter Conference each year. As envisioned by PEN and approved by the APA California Chapter Board, the Planner Remembrance program recognizes planners who practiced in California and their contribution to the profession and the communities they served during their career. The Program focus is to celebrate and acknowledge the work and legacy of planners, but special consideration may be given to prominent non-planners whose work is widely recognized to have made a significant contribution to the planning profession or California planning in general.
The Planner Remembrance presentation (PowerPoint) is posted on the PEN website along with brief bios of the planners who are recognized each year.
